Did you get a chance to read our last blog yet? If you did, then you know that there are several things that you will need to purchase in order to become the successful sewing enthusiast you’ve always wanted to be! To recap, we talked about a cutting mat, fabric scissors, and a ruler. The following is a list of a few more things that you will need to put on yoursewing machine table before you get started:
- Fabric markers- Fabric markers are useful for so many different things! You could trace your pattern right onto your fabric, transfer important markings from your patterns, or even mark button-holes! The best part is that there are water-soluble markers out there made specifically for fabric. With these markers, you can clearly mark your pattern and it comes off easily when you’re done!
- A seam ripper– Every sewist, no matter how experience or professional they may be, will have to go back and rip out a seam every once in a while. Luckily, when you have a good seam ripper on your side, you can easily remove the stitch without messing up your fabric at all.
- Needles- You will need to stock up on sewing needles for both hand sewing and your sewing machine. Having extra needles around will save you from having to take a trip to the store in the middle or your project when something inevitably comes up (it always does!).
